Tenure Track Position in Psychology (Developmental)

The Department of Psychology at Memorial University in Newfoundland and Labrador invites applications for a tenure track position in Psychology (Developmental) at the rank of Assistant Professor.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Psychology, or a PhD in a related discipline with a strong background in Psychology and will show evidence of an active research program in Developmental Psychology that can attract external funding. We welcome applications from researchers who conduct child-centered research with a diverse set of methodologies. We are particularly interested in those who study children in a laboratory environment. In addition to research, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate courses of interest to psychology and/or behavioural neuroscience majors and will demonstrate capacity for supervising Undergraduate Honours and Graduate students in the Psychology Department. Candidates with research interests that span two or more research areas within Psychology and related areas, and/or with an applied focus are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those with a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism in their research and teaching.

The successful candidate will join the Department of Psychology, one of the largest departments in the Faculty of Science. The Department is home to 33 faculty members, and approximately 450 undergraduate and 100 graduate students enrolled in the major and honours curriculum (B.Sc. and B.A.), M.Sc. in Experimental Psychology, Master of Applied Psychological Science (MAPS) degree, Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, or the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree. Faculty members within the Animal Behaviour group also accept M.Sc. and Ph.D. students through the interdisciplinary Cognitive and Behavioural Ecology Program.
