The College of Pharmacy, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS), University of Manitoba, Canada invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of Instructor I/II, commencing February 1, 2025, or at a time to be negotiated. The position will initially be a term position up to 3 years, renewable, with the potential to be a continuing appointment. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and in accordance with the University of Manitoba Faculty Association collective agreement.

This position will primarily be responsible for Steele’s Apothecary as the manager for this community pharmacy in accordance with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba requirements. As the manager the incumbent will foster and implement innovative pharmacy services in the pharmacy. Services will focus on opportunities to expand scopes of practice and offer opportunities for students and faculty to be involved with the pharmacy. Additional services may include organizing and implementing vaccination clinics, supporting the travel health clinic, de-prescribing, providing pharmacy support for potential research collaboration, and developing innovative and forward-thinking pharmacy services.

This position will also contribute to teaching and service in the College of Pharmacy and the University. Activities will include teaching and assessment in the Applied Pharmacy Practice Lab courses and/or clinical courses with duties involving, but not limited to, teaching and evaluating students in the application of patient care skills, performance-based and simulation assessments, course coordination, delivering lectures, and developing patient cases. The successful candidate will provide service to the College of Pharmacy, the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS), the University of Manitoba, the profession, and the community as required.

The successful candidate will possess a PharmD or BSc (Pharm) degree, with significant, relevant, management and community pharmacy practice experience; advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s), additional certifications (e.g. EPPH, BCPS, CDE or similar) will be considered an asset. Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience and experience working collaboratively. The candidate must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal teamwork skills. In addition to in-person teaching responsibilities, the ability to teach in a virtual on-line environment is an asset. The successful candidate must possess and maintain an active pharmacy license in good standing and be eligible to practice in Manitoba.

The College of Pharmacy is located in the state-of-the-art Apotex Centre on the Bannatyne Campus at the University of Manitoba. The College of Pharmacy has a long history of excellence in pharmacy education and maintains strong associations with professional bodies and practicing pharmacists in hospitals, community, and primary care settings. It is part of the RFHS and situated on a dynamic campus that provides opportunities for interprofessional collaboration in health sciences education, research, and practice.
