MASTER LECTURER FACULTY POSITION IN THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Laurentian University

The School of Business Administration in the Faculty of Management at Laurentian University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a Master Lecturer position with specialization in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour and Experiential Learning. Although the teaching will be primarily in English, the ability to teach in the French language program is an asset. The preferred start date is September 1, 2024.

Candidates must have completed a Master’s degree by the start date of the appointment and relevant experience may be an asset. The successful candidate will have the following essential qualifications:

• An advanced degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Management or related field
• Evidence of the ability to effectively teach at the undergraduate level in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, and Management, and supervise internships and Cooperative education placements with a commitment to pedagogical and academic excellence, promoting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment, and advancing Laurentian University’s bilingual and tricultural mandates
• Commitment to promoting a diverse, inclusive and vibrant academic and work environment.

In addition to the above, active engagement and participation in teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to make contributions through service to the School, Faculty, University, and broader community. An on-campus presence is expected.

The School of Business Administration (SBA) is in the Faculty of Management. The School offers the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA 4 years), the Baccalauréat en administration des affaires (BAA 4 years), the Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a number of professional development programs. The Faculty of Management also includes the School of Sports Administration (SPAD), which offers the Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Sports Administration (HB Com SPAD). Students benefit from a collaborative style of learning, group work and a case-oriented teaching methodology. The BBA and MBA degrees are also offered online to a diverse group of learners. The Faculty of Management maintains articulation agreements with Ontario colleges, with top-tier universities in China offering opportunities for teaching abroad and research collaborations, as well as student exchange agreements with a range of universities globally. We expect faculty members to engage in supporting the Assurance of Learning process and the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) objectives.

Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves over 8000 students and is one of two bilingual universities in the province of Ontario. • A statement of current and prospective teaching interests, teaching approach and experience.
• A statement of how the candidate incorporates research into their teaching;
