Faculty Position in International Business
The Ivey Business School at Western University seeks candidates for a full-time, limited term faculty position in the area of International Business (IB). Applicants will be considered for appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor to be determined by candidate qualifications and experience. The position is available to begin in July 2025. The appointment will be for up to three years with the potential for renewal.
The successful candidate will be experienced of teaching a variety of IB subjects (e.g., international business, global strategy, strategies for emerging markets) in our student-centered, case-based undergraduate, MBA, or MSc programs. Past experience teaching via the case method is also essential. Expertise in regional markets in Africa and / or Latin America is an asset. The ability to teach in French is desirable.
The newly appointed faculty member is expected to contribute to Ivey’s Strategic objective to develop global citizens and enhance scholarship on the critical issue of “Canada within the world”. In addition to teaching, preferred candidates should be able to contribute to and complement the IB group’s activities in a number of ways. Collegiality and experience as a member of a teaching team as well as demonstrated commitment to service are highly valued. Contributions to IB research on topics that complement the IB area’s expertise is desirable.
Candidates are expected to have a PhD (or nearing PhD completion) degree. Candidates are sought who have an interest in actively engaging with students as part of the Ivey educational experience.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and administrative staff within the Ivey Business School and the broader university community. Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of prior performance in teaching, research, and leadership, as well as qualifications (including areas of specialization and advanced training), professional experience, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will exhibit strong communication abilities, cultural competence, and the capacity to foster positive relationships across diverse groups.
